Wanda Jean Miner was born September 23, 1949 at Watertown, South Dakota to Pierre LaPointe Sr and Josephine Andrews LaPointe.  She attended St. Charles Public School.  She lived most of her life in the St. Charles and Bonesteel area.  Later in her life she met Gerald Charging Hawk from this marriage five boys were born: Myron Charging Hawk (deceased), Todd Charging Hawk, Jerald Charging Hawk Miner Jr, Larry Charging Hawk and Donovon Charging Hawk, she loved her boys very much.

Later in life she remarried Ralph Miner in 1985 and in 1987 moved to Eagle Butte, SD.  In 1988 they moved to Randolf, NE and then to Norfolk, NE where she remained until August of 2017.

Wanda was a homemaker and house wife.  She loved babysitting, taking care of her plants, baking, cooking, traveling, reading and home art projects.

Wanda is survived by her sons: Todd Charging Hawk, Larry Charging Hawk, Jerald Miner and  Donovan Charging Hawk; her sister Shirley (Alfred) Old Lodge, her brother Loren (Barb) LaPointe, her grandkids; her aunts Winnie Andrews, Rita Carlson and Jesse Andrews.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre Sr and Josephine LaPointe; Jesse Andrews Sr, Marvin LaPointe, Pierre LaPointe Jr, Almeda LaPointe, Regina Bad Horse, Norma Kornokovich, Myron Charging Hawk, Jesse and Mercy Andrews, Caroline, Joyce, Donna, Hampton Andrews, Margaret Williams, Caroline Andrews, Joyce Andrews and Donna Andrews.

Wanda has many grandchildren she loved so dearly, Chantel, Kiersten, Tawny Charging Hawk, Ingrid, Isiah, Kenzy, Michael Charging Hawk, Kalvin Bird and many nieces, nephews who she loved very much.

Funeral services for Wanda Miner, age 73, of Yankton, SD and formerly of Bonesteel, SD, will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel, SD. Burial will be in the Ponca UCC Cemetery, St. Charles, SD.  Wake services begin on Wednesday at the Hall and continue until the time of services.
