Violet Irene Stahlecker was born July 18, 1922 near Butte, Nebraska to Claus and Olida (Klug) Sieh. She died June 11, 2014 at the Santa Rita Rehabilitation Center in Green Valley, Arizona. She died from complications of a fractured hip, due to a fall at her home in Arizona on May 28, 2014.
Violet is remembered for her years of research on genealogies for the Stahlecker, Sieh and Klug families. She also baked many wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes. She also enjoyed painting pictures for several years. She was a rural school teacher in Boyd and Holt counties during the 1940's and 1950's.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents, Claus and Olida; her sisters: Hazel Ahlers, Vera Schoenefeld and Gladys Ahlers; her brothers: Harold and Raymond, and a son-in-law, Daniel Gorham.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Laura Gorham of Green Valley, AZ; her granddaughter: Crysti Obana of Walnut Creek, CA; her grandsons: Kyle (Jana) Cozad of Salt Lake City, UT and Mark (Katie) Cozad of Shawnee, KS; one brother, Claus Sieh, Jr of New Ulm, MN; her great-grandson, Josh Andreasen of Blair, NE and her great-granddaughter, Alea Cozad of Shawnee, KS; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Naper. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Naper. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
