Obituary

Vervil Faye Zimmerman, daughter of Harry and Martha Zimmerman, was born September 14,1930 in Burke, SD.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamison, Nebraska.  She attended elementary school in rural Keya Paha County.  She went on to attend high school at Burke High School in Burke, SD where she graduated in May of 1948.  After high school she continued her education by attending college in Springfield, SD and graduating with a teaching degree.

Vervil was married to Ray Wolf on December 16, 1950 and to this union four children were born; Michaela, Patricia, Elizabeth "Jody", and Damon "Charlie".  She had nine grandchildren: Chris, Brett, Shawn, Heidi, Melanie, JJ, Anne, Corby and Katie. She loved them dearly and always said she had the most precious children and grandchildren and was very blessed.

Vervil taught in rural county schools as well as in Herrick, SD and retired after eighteen years of teaching.  After her retirement, she joined Ray in the trucking business.  She drove an eighteen wheeler with Ray until he passed in May of 1987.  Ray always said she could drive the truck as well or better than most men!  After Ray's death, she discovered she missed being around the children so she decided to become a school bus driver.  She was also a very active member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary of Herrick, SD for many years.  She enjoyed those times very much.

Vervil was re-married on December 27, 1993 to Elmer Kracht of Gregory, SD.  They led a very active life and enjoyed attending all of their grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities.  Vervil and Elmer resided on a farm south of Gregory until her passing.

She leaves to mourn: her husband - Elmer, two daughters - Michaela (Terry) Sachtjen of Naper, NE, Elizabeth "Jody" (Jerry) Bartling of Vermillion, SD, one son - Damon "Charlie" (Cindy) Wolf of Burke, SD, one step daughter - Kathy (Duane) Sachtjen of Gregory, SD, nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, two sisters of El Paso, TX, and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband - Ray, one daughter - Patricia, two brothers and one sister and other loved ones.
