Vernon Hitchcock was born July 22, 1952 to Curtis and Margaret (Peterson) Hitchcock at Burke, South Dakota and he passed away April 2, 2023 at the Avera Gregory Healthcare Center in Gregory, South Dakota after a battle with cancer.

Vernon lived his entire life on the family homestead near Jamison, Nebraska.  He loved farming and fishing.  In his younger years he had coyote and coon hounds and enjoyed hunting them with family and friends.

On September 5, 1978 he married Pam Tietgen and to this union three sons: Clint, Riley and Heath were born.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Margaret, and an infant grandson, Walker.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Pam; his sons: Clint (Casey) and son Hunter; Riley and Heath (Jennifer) son Lincoln and daughter Emerson; three sisters: Dianne (Jim) Buryanek; Sandra (Lee) Odenbach and JaNell (Bob) Gnirk; one brother: Victor (Diana) Hitchcock as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be no services held.
