Mass of Christian Burial service for Totsy (Viola) Wiedrick, 95 of Fairfax-Gregory, SD will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 8, 2024 at St, Anthony's Catholic Church in Fairfax, SD. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 6:00 pm with the rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at St. Anthony's.

Totsy passed away on January 31, 2024 at Avera Rosebud Country Care Center, Gregory, SD.  Totsy was born on September 4, 1928 to Garry and Molly Salmen in Baker, NE. Totsy was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Faith in Baker NE.  Totsy attended Fairfax High School and graduated in 1946. After graduation she attended Springfield College where she got her teaching certificate. She then taught in Dixon, SD from 1947 to 1948. She also worked at the Tee-Pee Cafe.

Totsy was united in marriage to Walter Wiedrick on June 29, 1948 at St. Anthony's Church in Fairfax, SD. To this union four daughters were born. Janice (deceased) Sandra, Nancy, and Connie.  They farmed in the Fairfax area for 14 years, ran a grocery store for 10 years and worked at school as a math teacher for 20 years.

Totsy loved to play cards, bowl, watch baseball and softball games and play bean bags.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, 3 brothers, Herman, Emil & Raymond, 2 sisters, Alice & Berniece, 1 daughter, Janice and son-in law, Paul.

Totsy is survived by her 3 daughters, Sandra Schochenmaier of Snyder, NE, Nancy Hoar of Battle Creek, NE. Connie (Mark) Rajewich of Gregory, SD. Grandchildren, Scott Schochenmaier, Shawn (Heather) Schochenmaier, Jamie (Chris) Stigge. Kelli (Toby) Granados, Ryan (Celina) Hoar and Shelby (Devin) Schell. Great Grandchildren: Collin & Ryder Stigge, Triston & Ethan Granados, Faith Schochenmaier, Carter, Brynn, Corbin & Briar Schochenmaier, Kylie & Asia Schell and Emily and Addy Jo Hoar.
