Terry J. Gregoire was born September 4, 1933 at Geddes, South Dakota to Victor and Mabel (Davis) Gregoire and he died February 28, 2012 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 78 years.

Terry attended the Red, White and Blue School south of Geddes, South Dakota. He was inducted into the Army in 1955 at Anchorage, Alaska and served until his honorable discharge in 1957. While in the service he married Shirley Meyer on February 5, 1957 and to this union two children were born: Katherine and Victor. In 1959 Terry and Shirley moved to the Fairfax area where he worked for various ranchers until 1988. In 1988 they bought a small acreage near Fairfax.

Terry served as a brand inspector in the Bonesteel-Fairfax area for 27 years. He enjoyed ranching, riding horses, raising cattle, raising sheep, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Bonesteel American Legion.

Those who treasured being a part of his life include his wife, Shirley of Bonesteel, SD; one son, Victor and wife Jamie of Las Vegas, NV; two granddaughters: Candy Jo (Eric) Gambrill of Parker, SD; and Lindsey (Paul) Gregoire of Sioux Falls, SD; one grandson, Tanner Gregoire of Sioux Falls, SD; one step-grandson., Brandon Hulderson of Sioux Falls, SD; and his great-grandchildren: Hunter, Paige and Madeline.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister in infancy and by his daughter, Katherine.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Fairfax. There will be a visitation on Friday morning one hour prior to the services at the church. Clausen Funeral Home in Burke is handling the arrangements.
