Susan Diane Davis was born November 1, 1951 to Charles & Dorene (Smalley) Fernau at Lynch, Nebraska. Susan passed away suddenly on September 14, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota.
Susan was a farm girl & was raised in rural Butte, Nebraska. She attended country schools around Butte & later Butte High School.
Susan was united in marriage to John (Chuck) Charles Davis on May 28, 1968. To this union two children were born, Kendra & Thaddeus.
Susan & Chuck made their home on the ranch south of Naper, Nebraska. Susan worked at the Nursing Home in Butte while Kendra & Thad were attending high school. Later Susan helped run the Corner Bar & owned the Oak Creek Inn in Butte.
Susan is survived by her husband Chuck Davis of Naper, her children Kendra (Joe) of Butte, NE & Thad (Kim) of Naper, NE. Her grandchildren: Kameron, Karissa (Josh), Eric (Julie), Sam (Mistie), Amanda (Brad), Craig (Ashley); and 7 great-grandchildren. Her brother Denny (Rosella ) Fernau, her sister Connie (Mike) Helmberger, her sister-in-law Sharon (Gary) Fuhrman and many nieces, nephews & friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Dorene Fernau and her brother Duane.
Susan was a loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother. She loved watching & cheering on Nebraska Volleyball. Susan also loved spending time fishing with her family.

Funeral services for Susan Davis, age 67, of Naper, NE will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, SD. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery of Naper, NE. There will be a visitation from 5 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
