Sidney Lawrence Bradford, Jr. was born October 13, 1922 at New Orleans, Louisiana to Sidney, Sr. and Victoria (Villarrubia) Bradford and he died May 9, 2008 at the Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, South Dakota at the age of 85 years.

Sidney grew up in the 4th Precinct in New Orleans and attended school there. He enlisted in the military at the age of 17, serving during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired from military service as a Warrant Officer after serving for 31 years. He was united in marriage to Mabel McGinley. They moved to the Bonesteel area in 1971.

Sydney was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney, Sr. and Victoria. He is survived by his wife, Mabel of Bonesteel, South Dakota; his son, Art White of Texas; his daughter, Pat Martins of Texas; his grandchildren: Delbert White of Wagner, South Dakota; Karen Reiser of Butte, Nebraska; Mark White of Colorado; Tina White of Florida; Kim White of Ohio; David White of Florida; Kim Martin, Susan Martin, Brad Martin, and Laura Martin all of Texas; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Clausen Funeral Home.
