Ross Alan Vogt, 38, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Burke Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota.
Ross was born May 3, 1983 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Roger Vogt and Debora Vogt, thirteen months after his sister Jessica. The day they brought Ross home, Jessica started walking or rather running knowing full well she better start moving with the arrival of her full-spirited brother.
He attended school in Armour, South Dakota before moving to Naper, Nebraska and graduating from Spencer-Naper High School in 2002. After graduating, he attended Northeast Community College before returning back to his hometown.
In 2012, Ross became a daddy to his beloved, Hannah Alese. She was the apple of his eye. On June 8, 2015, Ross married the love of his life, Jessie. He met Jessie at his very special place, Angels Straw Bale Saloon. That place meant the world to him, he loved spending time with friends and family there. The most important roll that Ross played was that of a husband and a dad. His children and wife were his pride and joy. Ross was a kind, tender-hearted man and these characteristics made him an exceptional father and husband. This also made him a natural friend to everyone he met.
Throughout his life, Ross worked on various farms always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a natural knack for mechanics and turning wrenches. He recently found his calling as a gardener and was fostering his green thumb. In true Ross fashion, he dove in head first! In this years garden, he planted over 100 watermelon and tomato plants, let alone, countless other fruits and vegetables. Although he planted this elaborate garden with the intention of selling the produce, knowing Ross, he likely wouldn't have had the heart to charge anyone. He just loved gardening and took great pride in watching the fruits of his labor flourish.
Ross was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold, who'd give anyone the shirt off his back. He was the life of the party, always up for a good time, especially if fishing, bonfires, or sharing stories were in store. Ross will be remembered for his shenanigans, contagious giggle, and overall love of life.
