Rene Willene Haisch was born June 22, 1959 at Burke, South Dakota to William and Gerene (Lamborn) Haisch. She went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2006 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 9 days, following a short illness. She was surrounded by many of her family, whom she dearly loved.

Rene grew up on her parents ranch north of Bonesteel and attended school at Gregory. At the age of 16, she completed a training program at Sioux Vocational Services in Sioux Falls. She then moved to Mitchell, where she spent most of her adult life as a client of the Mitchell Area Adjustment Training Center. In the past few years she has resided at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Corsica, Sr. James Care Center in Yankton and the Mickelson Center for the Neurosciences in Yankton.

Rene enjoyed life and made friends of anyone she met. Seldom forgetting anyones name, she always had a big smile and an exuberant greeting for everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and singing and dancing to music of all kinds.

Rene was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gerene.

Glad to have shared her life are her step-mother, Leigh Anne Haisch of Mitchell, SD; her sisters: Sandi (Dick) Cullen of Ashland, VA; Jeanne (John) Applebee of Bonesteel, SD; Marilyn (Jim) Lofflin of Yankton, SD; and her brother Tom (Shirley) Haisch of Orlando, FL; 7 nieces and 2 nephews; 6 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews; as well as a multitude of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 10:30 AM at United Church of Christ in Fairfax, SD. Burial will be in the Rosebud Cemetery, Bonesteel. There will be a 7:00 PM prayer service on Monday at the Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to both services at the church.
