Regina "Jeannie" B. (Wolf) Ertz-Kehn went into the Spirit World on Thursday, November 15, 2012. She was at her home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Jeannie was born to Fred and Dorothy (Dunn) Wolf on the family farm north of Fairfax, South Dakota, on February 24, 1929. She went to country grade school and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1946. She attended college at Southern State Teacher's college in Springfield, South Dakota, and taught at country grade schools in Charles Mix and Gregory counties.

Jeannie married Duane Ertz on August 23, 1949. To this union five children were born; Dewey, Fred, Dicksie, Jon and Ward. Jeannie and Duane made their home on a farm in Boyd County, Nebraska, and a ranch north of Fairfax, South Dakota. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1971 and ran the Pomp Room Bar for many years. Duane passed away November of 2000.

On October 9, 2004, Jeannie married Don Kehn in a lovely ceremony in Loveland, Colorado. They made their home near Fort Collins, Colorado.

Jeannie loved and was loved by family and friends. She adored horses and cats, but had a special fondness for a little pooch named Taz. For Jeannie, there was nothing better than riding horseback. She had a competitive spirit, but always cheered for the underdog.

Jeannie was very proud of her Native American heritage and was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

Jeannie is survived by her husband Don of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Dicksie (Wayne) Rask of Fairfax, SD; sons, Dewey (Julie) of Box Elder, SD, Fred (Stephanie) of Grapevine, TX, Jon (Lori) of Sioux Falls, SD, Ward (Amy) of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law, Vervil Kracht of Gregory, SD, Evelyn Wolf of Atkinson, NE, Ione Jeffrey of Tucson, AZ, and Gretchen Hausmann of Turnwater, WA. Jeannie is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
