Regina Lois Bad Horse was born December 22, 1960 to Pierre and Josephine (Andrews) LaPointe in Gregory, South Dakota. She entered the Lord's Kingdom on July 22, 2017 at the Nebraska University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 56. She was raised in the country by Milkscamp and attended elementary school at St. Charles, then later attended high school in Bonesteel, South Dakota.
Regina was united in marriage to Sterling Bad Horse Sr. on June 1st, 1979. To this union three children, Marcus, Emma and Sterling Jr. were born. They made their home in the Bonesteel area and later in Sioux Falls, SD.
Gina lived in different areas throughout her life after leaving Bonesteel. This included Minneapolis, Denver, and Sioux Falls before settling in Yankton, SD to be closer to her children. Family was very important to Regina and she loved to spend time with them, whether it was visiting with her siblings over the phone or spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid Denver Broncos fan and come football season could always be found cheering on her team. Regina's warm heart always meant her door was open for those who needed it, and she always tried to help people if she could.
Regina is survived by her children, Marcus (Jessica) Bad Horse of St. Charles, SD, Emma (Kelsey) Bad Horse of Yankton, SD, and Sterling Jr. (Wendy) of Yankton, SD. Three grandchildren; Alex, Heaven and Sadie. Her siblings Jeannie Minor of Norfolk, NE, Brick (Amy) LaPointe of Bonesteel, SD, Shirley (Alfred) Old Lodge of Bonesteel, SD and Loren LaPointe of Wagner, SD. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles she held all dear to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Josephine LaPointe, her husband Sterling Bad Horse, Sr, her brother, Marvin LaPointe, and her sister Almeda LaPointe. She will forever be missed by her family & friends still here, but we rejoice in the fact that she finally is at her eternal home with the Lord watching over us.
We love you. We miss you. Rest in peace until we meet again.
