Obituary

Neal Ronald Inglett was born November 28th, 1943 in Burke, SD to Noble and Viola (Smith) Inglett. He was the youngest of seven children. He attended grade school at Smith School in Lucas Community. He graduated from Burke High School in 1962 a three sport athlete in basketball, football and track.

In the fall of 1962 he attended college at South Dakota State - Brookings studying to be a pharmacist. December 8th, 1962 he married the love of his life, Cheryl Bauld of Herrick and transferred to the University of South Dakota at Springfield majoring in Elementary Education. He taught all eight grades in one classroom for two years at Smith School in Lucas and then three years in Burton Nebraska. To supplement his income he did odd jobs and sold stocks and bonds.

In 1970, he moved his family to California to work with his brother Gary in construction. Times were difficult at first. Then in 1971, southern California saw a major earthquake and the construction business was booming. Soon after, Neal expanded his business to loaders and water trucks and ventured out on his own. He ran a successful business for 36 years. After the 2008 recession, Neal decided to retire. But after a couple years of watching Cheryl vacuum around his feet, Neal went back to work as a superintendent running grading and demolition projects for his son-in-law, Brian Price.

When he finally made the decision to slow his professional life, he and Cheryl would take trips to Las Vegas, Sacramento, Alaskan cruises, Australia and of course, Burke. But most of their time would be spent with family attending school functions, sporting events and visiting the one-armed bandit at local casinos.

Neal was a hard worker, well liked by his peers and extremely disciplined. He loved being social and meeting new people. He enjoyed telling a joke as much as he enjoyed listening to one. Unfortunately, he rarely finished a joke usually uncontrollably laughing in the middle. His most amazing accomplishment was the legacy he built that included five beautiful children, thirteen grand children and six great grand children. He was extremely close to them all although 1500 miles separated parts of his family. He entered the electronic era happily using Facetime and Skype to speak with his family near and far daily.

Neal passed away November 1, 2014 in Murrietta, Ca of a very sudden heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents Noble and Viola, his in-laws Elvera & Clinton Bauld, two brothers Gary and Gene and his sister Joan Bartling.

Neal is survived by Cheryl, his wife of more than 50 years and their five children: Brenda (Donivan) Lambley of Burke, Janeane (Ronald) Munman of Calabasas, Ca, Kimberley (Erick) Moe of Moorpark, Ca, Tracy (Brian) Price of Valencia, Ca, and Noble Inglett of Reseda, Ca. Additionally, thirteen grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as one brother Gale (Jan) Inglett of Sacramento, Lila (David) Howe of Corta Madera, Ca, Velma (Neil) Burkinshaw of Jamison, NE, sister-in-law Norma Inglett of Burke and brother-in-law Gayherdt Bartling of Burke.

Neal will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
