Mildred Rosina Klein was born August 28, 1929 on the Family farm to Carl George and Bertha (Hasche) Lindwurm. She passed away December 19, 2013 at Sanford hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 84 years.
Mildred was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up on the family farm near Carlock, South Dakota and attended Pleasant Site #51 School. She lost her father in a tragic accident, so she and her sisters had to help their mother take care of the five younger brothers and work on the family farm.
Mildred met her love, Rudy and they were united in marriage on July 11, 1948 and to this union five children were born: Vernon, Deloris, Delbert, Karen and Dennis.
During her lifetime, she was always by Rudy's side to help with all of the farm work. Her hobbies included collecting antique dishes and gardening. She was known by her grandchildren for making the "best" dill pickles. She had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. After the passing of her husband, she knew she could depend on Kiley and Karen to take care of her and always be by her side.
Mildred was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Burke. She was also a member of the Burke VFW Auxiliary and Herrick Legion Auxiliary.
Mildred is survived by her children: Vernon (Diane) of Herrick, SD; Delbert (Patricia) of Herrick, SD; Karen of Herrick, SD; and Dennis (Marilyn) of Burke, SD; her 11 grandchildren: Kim, Kevin, Leland, Carleen, Clint, Jeff, Stephanie, Calvin, Dulcie, Kiley and Ross; 9 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
