Mildred Mae Davis was born June 15, 1928 at Fairfax, South Dakota to Herman and Caroline (Weidner) Wilken and she died March 8, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Wagner, South Dakota at the age of 81 years.
Mildred was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Fairfax and remained a member until her death. She received her education at Fairfax, graduating with the Class of 1946. She remained active in the Alumni Association. She was united in marriage to Donald Davis in 1948. She was a lifelong resident of Fairfax and served as the Postmaster for many years, retiring in 1985.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Caroline; her sister, Elsie; her brother, Alvin; her sister-in-law, Ruby and her nephew, Ronald Wilken.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Donald; her brother, Bob and wife Darlene; four nephews: Doug, Dennis, Dave and Daryle; one niece, Kristi; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fairfax. There will be a prayer service on Thursday at 6 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both of the services at the church.
