Mary L. Noelle: A Life Woven with Love and Creativity

Mary L. Noelle, who graced our world for 86 vibrant years, was born on April 9, 1939. She passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in the Lake Andes Nursing Home. Her life, as colorful as the fabrics she so skillfully stitched, is a kaleidoscope woven with moments of joy, creativity, and humor.

Mary's gentle hands brought to life crocheted doilies that were more than just yarn and thread; they were tiny ambassadors of her playful spirit. Whether knitting a scarf to warm a chilly day, sewing a garment with the precision of a master tailor, Mary transformed simple materials into works of art that celebrate the beauty of everyday life. Her hobbies weren't just pastimes; they were vibrant expressions of her joy, each loop and stitch a testament to a life well-lived.

In her beloved community of Burke, South Dakota, Mary was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where her warm smile lit up the pews. Beyond her spiritual contributions, she brought her generous energy to the Ladies Aid and Hospital Auxiliary, charming everyone with her helpfulness and her knack for infusing every task with humor and heartfelt care.

Mary leaves behind: two daughters and their husbands, one brother and his wife, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, son, daughter, parents, two brothers, a sister, and four sisters-in-law. Her remarkable legacy remains stitched into the hearts of those she touched.

Mary L. Noelle's life was a marvelous quilt of love, creativity and spiritual belief, a joyful pattern that endures in every memory, every crafted piece, and every moment. May we all find comfort in knowing that her vibrant spirit, like a cherished handmade heirloom, will continue to inspire us to live life boldly and with a dash of playful charm.

Memorial services for Mary Noelle, age 86, of Burke, SD will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Burke.  Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke.
