Mary Jane Katzer was born February 8, 1942 at Lynch, Nebraska to Gene and Ada (Green) Riesselman and she died May 9, 2025 at the Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 83 years.

Mary Jane attended Basin Country School and graduated from Naper High School.  She graduated from the University of Nebraska and taught elementary school at the Lincoln Public Schools for 30 years.

Mary Jane was united in marriage to Kenneth Katzer in 1960.  together they had four children: Timothy, Theresa, Mark and David.

Mary Jane enjoyed tending to her many flowers in her yard and on the patio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ada; as well as her children Timothy and Theresa.

Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sons Mark and David; daughter-in-law Daria; grandchildren: Kyle, Krystal and Nate; great-grandchild Brandon; her brother Merle Riesselman; her sister Mable Sattler; brother-in-law Dennis Katzer; sisters-in-law: Ruth Lewis, Myrna Weiss, Linda Dunn as well as several cousins.

Funeral services for Mary Jane Katzer, age 83, of Lincoln, NE and formerly of Naper, NE will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Butte, NE.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Naper.  There will be a rosary on Sunday at 7:00 PM at the church.
