Mary Andersen was born in Ogallala, NE on August 24, 1936. Surrounded by her family and loving friends prayers Mary left her earthly home August 10, 2009 at 1:52 pm Arizona time. Through the journey her family was able to provide comfort and care at home with the assistance of Hospice of the Valley.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband Bill of 55 years, daughters Crystal of Phoenix, AZ; Teresa of Scottsdale, AZ; and Shelly of Phoenix, AZ; her cherished granddaughter Gabriella and step-grandson Davin Mitchell. She is survived by her sister Maxine of Rapid City ,SD; and brother Darrell of Billings, MT; brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and friends all along the way. Mary was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne Mitchell, her parents and two brothers.

Mary loved her years in Burke. She kept busy with the girls interest and activities when they were at home. She was actively involved with the UMW, Senior Center, and the VFW. Mary loved quilting, crocheting, and embroidering. Her handmade treasures will be cherished by family and friends.

Bill and Mary enjoyed their yard and garden, Sunday drives and just being together. Rarely seen was one without the other. Bill will miss his Honey Do List.

Mary loved her friends and a good chat over tea. She treasured the cards, letters phone calls and weekly Burke Gazette while spending winters at her Arizona home.
Spending winters in Arizona with Bill and her girls meant the world to her. She loved the traveling, shopping and family gatherings.

Mary will be missed by all who were fortunate to meet her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, with a 5:00 PM prayer service, at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
