Marvilla Fern (Jons) Williams was born on March 7, 1932 to Harold and Ida Jons. She died December 15, 2025 under hospice care in Topeka, Kansas at the age of 93 years.

She grew up on a farm and attended country school. She graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1951. The following November she married Max Williams and lived with him on a ranch North of Bonesteel. To this union, 4 children were born.

Marvilla raised chickens and was an avid gardener. She was a dependable fixture at her children's plays, sports events and concerts. In her later years, she took painting lessons along with a couple of neighbor ladies. When she lived in Topeka, she volunteered at the Topeka library, and took ukelele lessons. She was always interested in meeting new people and trying new things.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Max, parents Harold and Ida, brothers Ronald (baby) and Marvin, Marvin’s wife Winnie Jo, father and mother-in-law Roy and Alpha Williams, and sister-in-law Lois Pepper.

Those left to morn her passing are her children, Marla, Marlin (Beth), Marty (Ann) and Mark (Sandy) Williams ,7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Bonesteel, SD. Burial will be in the Rosebud Cemetery, Bonesteel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
