Marion Joan Kelly, born Marion Joan Kortmeyer on September 12, 1937, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Lake Andes Senior Center at the age of 88. Marion was born in Burke, South Dakota and was a proud graduate of Burke High School, Class of 1955.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Irwin and Alice Kortmeyer, and by her brothers, Gene, Gerald, and Irwin Kortmeyer. She was also preceded in death by her ex-husbands, Theodore Hysell and Gregory Kelly.

She is survived by her four children: Michael Hysell, Douglas Hysell, Kathleen Galloway, and Daniel Hysell. Marion is also survived by her younger brother, Craig Kortmeyer, and her younger sister, Jolene Fleming, as well as by her nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Marion loved life and cherished the people around her. She had a special gift for connecting with others—she loved talking with people, sharing stories, and showing care in every conversation. In her free time, Marion enjoyed crocheting, reading and collecting different treasures including teddy bears. Above all, Marion loved the Lord, and her faith was an important part of who she was.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit.
