Mae Kershner, 94, Herrick, formerly of Buffalo, Wyoming, was called home Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
She was born March 8, 1915 in Buffalo to James and Georgia (Dowlin) Still.
She grew up in Buffalo and Fort Dodge, Iowa where she graduated from high school.
Mae returned to Buffalo were she met and married the love of her life L.H. (Ole) Kershner on October 6, 1934. From this union, they were joined by three children. Maes house was the hub of activity and family was very important to her. She remembers cooking many pots of chili to share with guests during football games. While Maes home had many visitors, frequent guests include her nephew Ronnie Hanson and wife Clara. But it was her grandchildren that meant the world to her.
Her husband passed away May 15, 1998 and she moved to Herrick in April 1999. Mae especially enjoyed her daily visits from Skeeter.
Mae is survived by her daughters Beverly Rogers and Donna Schwader; four grandchildren Wade (Bonnie), Wes (Ann), Meta (Ron), and William (Karma); six great grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Mark, Elizabeth, Sydney, and Lilly; one great great grandson Curtis; and one sister Phyllis.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, her infant son, her parents, her son-in-laws D.L. Rogers and Wally Schwader, one great grandson Ty Chavez, three sisters Eloise, Doris, and Kathryn, and two brothers James and Paul.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Buffalo, Wyoming with inurnment in the Willow Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Community Memorial Hospital in Burke.
