Lynn Alvin Pfaff, oldest son of Alvin and Delaine (Hoffman) Pfaff, was born July 23, 1952 at Burke, South Dakota and he died November 20, 2011 at the age of 59 years, 4 months, and 20 days.

Lynn attended school in Fairfax, graduating in 1970 and continued his education at Mitchell Vo-Tech where he trained in Mechanics. In November of 1972 he married Cindy Bentz and to this union one son, Jamie, was born. He was employed at Cenex and Hanson Repair in Fairfax. He then drove truck for a local firm and in 1981 became an independent trucker later establishing his own business PFAFF TRUCKING & AGGREGATES, a pay loader & maintainer service along with grain, gravel & flatbed hauling. He took great pride in his work and always had a willing heart to help fix anything for anyone. And as everyone knew, he also had the gift of conversation and enjoyed visiting with people of all ages. He especially enjoyed the company of his dog, Beaner.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He leaves to mourn in his passing his son, Jamie of St. Augustine, Florida and grandson, Alex of Flandreau, SD; his mother, Delaine of Fairfax, SD; 2 brothers, Kelly and wife Joan of Mitchell, SD and Rex and wife Tracy of Bonesteel, SD; 1 sister, Penny and husband Terry Drury of Blue Hill, NE; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fairfax. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
