Obituary

Lucille Grace Vogt Sieh died on October 27, 2010, at 7:25 p.m. in St. Peter, Minnesota at the age of 78. She was born on a farm west of Naper, Nebraska, on June 23, 1932. Lucille taught school in rural Naper for a short time. She married Johnny Sieh on June 24, 1950, and they resided in Naper all of their lives where they owned Naper Super Service.

Baking was one of Lucilles specialties. She was famous for her pies, especially apple, which was Johnnys favorite. The crust was always perfect. Everyone who knew her can attest to the quality of her cinnamon rolls. Wed all be poorer and, indeed, culinary beggars if we had not had one of these rolls. She attempted to pass this skill on to some of her granddaughters and although they have made great efforts, no one can duplicate the grand cinnamon creations of Lucille.

Lucille was a great cook; she could make fantastic gravy She attributed this to her mother who left her in charge of meal preparation while she worked in the barn or garden. Lucille hosted many holiday gatherings for her extended family where her cooking was greatly appreciated.

Lucille also served with the womens circle at her church, serving as the treasurer. She helped serve many meals for various events. As a neighbor, she was always available to help someone with their hair, picking up their mail or a friendly card game.
Lucille is survived by son Joel and wife Roslyn of Courtland, MN, son Barry and wife Lida of Fremont, NE, and daughter Cheryl and husband Armando of Okumlgee, OK; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; siblings Ed Vogt, Don Vogt, Shirley (Vogt) Neumiller, Darlene (Vogt) Sieh, and Sharon (Vogt) Robinson.
Lucille was preceded in death by husband Johnny, parents Claus and Daisy Vogt, brother Julius Fritz Vogt and sister Fern (Vogt) Barringer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend and servant, and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the United Church of Christ in Naper. Burial will be in the Knollcrest Cemetery, Naper. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.
