Lori Ann (Klein) Nelson was born in Burke, South Dakota on August 26, 1962 to Andrew Wayne and Eleanor R. (Herndon) Klein. She died May 2, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Lori was a member of the Baptist Church. She graduated from Burke High School in 1980. Following graduation, she worked at various jobs as an advocate and case manager for adults with disabilities. She later worked with the elderly. In February of 2004 she was united in marriage to Bruce Nelson.
Lori was often described as having a heart of gold. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Some of her favorite things were going to garage sales and baking. She loved her fur babies also.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Klein; her brother, Dennis Wayne Klein; her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Florence Herndon; and her paternal grandparents, Andrew and Edna Klein.
Lori is survived by her mother, Eleanor Klein of Platte, SD; her sister, Deb (Gene) Larson of Burke, SD; her brother, Richard (JoAnne) Klein of Gillette, WY; four special nieces and two special nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; the love of her life, Bruce Nelson; her three step-children and their children; as well as several special aunts and uncles and special friends.
Due to the Corona Virus, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
