Lori Ann Holmberg was born October 27, 1961 at Alliance, NE to Jim and Darlene (Nye) Doyle. She was baptized at the Catholic Church at Alliance, NE. She spent her first 12 years in Sioux County NE. She started school in a one room school house with two other students in Sioux County. In 1973 the family moved to Keya Paha Co., NE. There she found a love of the river, where she spent her time watching the animals and birds. She finished grade school at District One and graduated from Keya Paha Co. High School in 1979. Lori attended North East Technical College in Norfolk, NE studying art and drafting. On June 6, 1981 at the Lutheran Church in Nebraska she married Chad Holmberg of Gregory, SD. Chad and Lori were parents to three children: Jeremy born in 1983, Jared born in 1985 and Jamie born in 1989. She also helped raise Chad's daughter, Bailey. A woman of many talents she held many positions in Gregory and Mitchell, after the family moved there in 1991. Lori attended Dakota Wesleyan University; she graduated in 1996 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. She was employed in various roles at the Dakota Discovery Museum, including assistant director and director for 17 years. Recently, Lori has been in the accounting department of Boyd's Gun Stock. Lori's many interests consisted of star gazing, enjoying nature, playing with her grandchildren, studying literature and language, her steampunk and cosplay friends and family. She was a talented and quirky woman, always excited to try new things, such as learning to ski at 53. Lori is survived by her husband, Chad: son Jeremy and significant other, Ashton and children, Dominic, Cooper, Ellie, and Haley, son, Jared and fiancé, Shelby and child, Gaige, daughter, Jamie and significant other, Josh, also daughter, Bailey; her parents, Jim and Darlene Doyle, brother, Jay his wife, Lori and their children, Natasha, Kayla, Lindsey, and Lacey; her in-laws, Norbert and Maggie Holmberg; grandmother, Olive Sargent; sisters-in -law, Wendy, husband, Wade, son, Jay Broome, Penny, husband, Wade Hanna, children, Charissa, Malinda, Timbre and Wyatt and many cousins and friends.
