Obituary

Lois Imogene Hall was born November 13, 1923 to Ernest and Alma Andersen at Herrick, South Dakota and died July 4th, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 90 years.

Imogene grew up in Herrick, South Dakota and graduated from Herrick High School. She married Emmitt Hall on July 28th, 1942 in Rushville, Nebraska. They celebrated 69 years of marriage. She was the mother of four children and helped run Hall's Café with her husband. She helped with the cooking and baking. When not working, she enjoyed ball games and league bowling. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After selling the Café, Imogene enjoyed watching tennis and soaps on TV. She also loved doing crossword puzzles with her brother Lester. She also loved reading newspapers.

The last 2 years she resided at the Haisch Haus in Bonesteel, South Dakota. She considered everyone there family. She especially liked exercise time, playing bingo, getting her hair done and watching Polka on TV.

Imogene is survived by two daughters: Carol (Ben) Merical of Mercer, MO and Kathy (Greg) Hausmann of Bonesteel, SD; one son, Tom (Connie) Hall of Gregory, SD; six grandchildren: Barry Merical; Heidi (Jamie) Dooley; Cody (Angela) Hall; Kelli Hall; Amanda (Derek) Zeisler; Kim Hausmann and ten great grandchildren: Miko, Myla and Marissa Merical; Avery and Ayden Dooley; Trinity and Timothy Hall; Jayce and Javon Hall; Zachary Zeisler; and two brothers Bill and Lester Andersen of Burke, SD. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband Emmitt in 2012 and her son David in 1992; her parents; one brother Adrian Andersen and one sister Marcene Whitley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
