Lloyd Julius Butler, age 98, of Gregory, South Dakota died January 17, 2008 at the Rosebud Country Care Center Nursing Home in Gregory, South Dakota.

Lloyd was born July 31, 1909 at Burke, South Dakota to Julius and Dora (Hysell) Butler. He attended school in Burke. He was united in marriage to Mildred Stevicks on April 19, 1930. Together they raised one daughter and two sons on their farm southwest of Burke.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Dora; his wife, Mildred in 2000; one sister, Ina; one son-in-law, Chuck Rolf and one daughter-in-law, Katie Butler.

Lloyd is survived by one daughter, Donna Rolf of Kennebec, South Dakota; two sons: Dale of Winner, South Dakota and Dennis (Caroline) of Platte, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Burke, SD. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
