Linley A. Hinken
Born to eternal life Monday, October 26, 2009 at the age of 89. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, one brother and four sisters.
Loving father of Mary Louise (Harold) Norlander. Adored grandfather of Sharon (Dean) Smith, Harold Norlander III and Laura (Scott) Dyselski. Further survived by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Linley was born in Colome, South Dakota, attended school in the area and graduated from Burke High School. He farmed with his dad until he joined the service and served in World War II. He was a proud veteran and joined the VFW and American Legion after the war. He worked for Missouri Valley Insurance Company as an adjuster in Burke. After retiring he and Alice moved to Herrick. They enjoyed being active until their health declined and they then retired to the Haisch Haus in Bonesteel. Thereafter, Linley needed special care and moved to the Winner Nursing Home.
A special thanks to Monica and all of the care givers at the Haisch Haus and at the Winner Nursing Home for the wonderful love and care the bestowed on Linley. To the doctors, nurses and staff at the Burke Hospital for the special care that was given to him.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Union Baptist Church in Burke.
