Larry Dean Schrader, 65, of Winner, SD, passed away at home with family by his side, Saturday, May 9, 2009, after a battle with brain cancer.
Larry was born January 3, 1944, at Jamison, NE, one of seventeen children, to Emanuel and Beulah (Bennett) Schrader. He attended Spotted Tail School of Jamison, NE, through the eighth grade. He helped on the farm at home.
On May 23, 1964, he married Karen Wilson of Gregory, SD. Four wonderful children were welcomed through this union. Previous to selling the farm in 1994, Larry and Karen spend many years farming.
Larry was employed through Country Pride Cooperative as a propane delivery truck driver, where he had been employed for over ten years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He also enjoyed going camping and fishing with special friends and family. He had a special love for horses and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen, their four children, Brian (Marquitta) Schrader, Winner, Vicky (Brad) Chauncey, Junction City, KS, Stacy (LeRoy) Severson, Platte, and Jody (Kelly) Leighton, Colome; thirteen grandchildren; five brothers, Ivan (Mary) Schrader, Mitchell, Laverne (Myrna) Schrader, Gregory, Daniel Schrader, Jamison, NE, Stephen Schrader, Jamison, NE, and Duane Schrader, Jamison, NE; four sisters, Thelma (Clarence) Sell, Mission, Delores (Don) Novotny, Winner, Carol (Verlyn) Feyereisen, Iona, Geraldine (Vance) Feyereisen, Gregory; one brother-in-law, Gilbert Frank, Burke; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Beulah Schrader; five brothers, Orval Schrader, Orlin Schrader, Harlin Schrader, Dale Schrader and Roger Schrader; and two sisters, Virginia Frank and Iona Belle Schrader.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Winner. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
