SrA Lance C. Hoffman
10 May 1986 ? 30 April 2014
Senior Airman Lance Hoffman was born at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, on 10 May 1986. As a military child he moved often and called the world his home; but if one place lived on in his memory it would be the time spent here in South Dakota on the farm with his family. He graduated from Bitburg American High School in Germany. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine; father, Greg; brother Alex; and fiancé, Miranda Hodges who is also a member of the Air Force medical service. His hobbies included video gaming, motorcycling, and going to the gym ? which was actually more of a passion. Heavily influenced by his biological father, Lance joined the Air Force in June 2009 and started his career by successfully completing Basic Military Training and Technical School before being assigned to the 59th Medical Wing as a Physical Medicine Technician. On 16 November 2012, he was reassigned to the 959th Medical Group, 959th Medical Operations Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Here Lance was involved with many of our wounded warriors and was able to help them on the road to recovery. Senior Airman Hoffman's personality was infectious as he learned very quickly that he could encourage others while succeeding within himself. He touched the lives of many around him and was an excellent example of a great young Airman. All who had the opportunity to know him are better for the experience and we will remember him.
