Kathleen Mae Seymour was born December 30, 1945 in the Gregory Hospital in Gregory, South Dakota to Esther (Walter) and Roy Seymour. Kathie grew up on the farm near Jamison, Nebraska and went to school at Spotted Tail. She used to ride to school on their horse, Prince, with her brother Howard. Kathie graduated from Burke High School in 1963. She then went to AM Tech in Omaha for Key Punch and Office Technology. Kathie married Erwin Kortmeyer, Jr. on December 30, 1963 in Jamison, Nebraska at her parents" home. Kathie and Erwin made their home in Palm Springs, California. To this union two children were born, Alan Dale and Leah Rene. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1980.

Kathie then met and married Jack Edward Harp of Hidden Timber, South Dakota October 2, 1982. To this union one son was born, Adam Joel.

Kathie was very strong in her faith and was a faithful servant to God through many church ministries. She played the organ for church services, taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and was superintendent at Jamison Immanuel Lutheran in Jamison for many years. Kathie was very proud of her children and loved to visit with them. She was active in Boy Scouts with Alan, the church and school with Leah and the school with Adam. She also was very proud of her heritage and that her Grandfather, Fred Seymour, was a cowboy and member of The South Dakota Last Cattle Roundup of 1902.

Kathie worked for the Omaha telephone company after Tech school, an insurance company in Palm Springs, owned and operated The Treasure House in Burke for 3 years, worked at the Burke US Post Office for 20 + years and the last 10 + years at the True Value in Burke.

Kathie passed away February 5, 2012 in Seward, Nebraska at her son Alan"s home from cancer. She had been with them since Thanksgiving.

Kathie is survived by son Alan Kortmeyer and wife Carolyn of Seward, Nebraska. Granddaughter Shauna Meierdierks and husband Matt, great-grandson Kaleb and great-granddaughter Brianna of Milford, Nebraska. Granddaughter Sarah Allen and fianc" Trevor Rienke of Lincoln, Nebraska. Daughter Leah Kortmeyer of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Son Adam Harp and Chelsea Walters, granddaughters Emma Rose and Evie Marie Mae of Charles City, Iowa. She also leaves to mourn her mother Esther Seymour of Burke, South Dakota, brother Howard Seymour and wife Colleen of Omaha, Nebraska, sister Connie Aitken and husband John of Seattle, Washington, husband Jack Harp, special friends Juanita, Phyllis, Becky and many other relatives and friends. Kathie was preceded in death by her father Roy Seymour and infant baby brother Daniel LeRoy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the St. John"s Lutheran Church in Gregory. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
