Karon Lorraine Hoffman was born August 13, 1942 in Mitchell, South Dakota to John and Rosa (Longbin) Schlund and she died November 20, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 73 years.
Karon grew up in the Mt Vernon and Mitchell, South Dakota area. She graduated from Mt Vernon High School in 1960. She continued her education at a VoTech for a year, graduating from nursing school. She worked as a secretary until 1977 and then moved to Gillette, Wyoming where she worked as a nurse. She worked as a nurse for 25 years.
She was united in marriage to Gary Hoffman on April 20, 1968. She moved to Burke, South Dakota in 2007. She loved sewing, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Karon was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sisters: Doris, Darlene and Eunice; her brothers: Aldin and Bud; and one great-grandson.
Karon is survived by her husband, Gary; her sister, Gerry; two daughters: Lori and Shelly; her step-daughter, Ruthie Jo; two step-sons: Jeff and Greg; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Karon will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
