June Florence Smith was born June 28, 1919 in Boyd County, Nebraska to George and Annie (Becker) Sieh and she died June 26, 2006 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 28 days.
June was united in marriage in 1933 to Clayton Smith. She had many hobbies an interests. Some of which included quilting and upholstering. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing. She was a life-long member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Herrick, South Dakota. She was also a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church Ladies Aide.
June is survived by her three sons: Gerald and wife Lee of Norfolk, Nebraska; Merlin and wife Sherry of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and John and wife Connie of Boone, Iowa; three brothers: Earl Sieh of Burke, South Dakota; Duane Sieh of Naper, Nebraska and Marlo Sieh of Naper, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton of 59 years; her parents, George and Annie Sieh; her brother, John; her sisters: Hilda Tietgen and Fern Sondgrath; and a daughter-in-law, Georgia Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 PM, with a 7 PM prayer service, at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
