I was born July 30, 1943 in Rosebud, South Dakota to Alice Knudsen Wright and Thomas Wright. I met Tom Fernau in Norfolk, Nebraska and we moved to Bonesteel, South Dakota along with my son, Bryan Wright. We were married and Tom worked on the Mulehead Ranch for Rose and Curley Haisch, where we made our home for 38 years.

During this time we had three children: Lonny, Bill and Tiffany. We were also able to raise our other children, Duane and Shawn. During this time we also had Rocky Straw come to live with us and join our family. We also had the pleasure of raising our granddaughter, Rachelle (Wright) Navarro. The greatest treasure in my life were my loving husband, Tom, my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking and taking care of my family.

I am survived by my husband, Tom of Bonesteel, SD; my children: Bryan (Jeri) Wright of Norfolk, NE; Duane (Sonya) Fernau of Fairfax, SD; Shawn Fernau of Schuyler, NE; Lonny Fernau of Bonesteel, SD; Bill (April) Fernau of Madison, SD; Tiffany (Don) Whipple of Bonesteel, SD; 24 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and my sisters and brothers.

I was preceded in death by my mom and dad, a son, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, numerous brothers and one sister.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the City Hall in Bonesteel, SD. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Hall.
