Joyce Ann Farabee was born March 8, 1939 to William and Mary (Pusl) Hotz and she died February 20, 2013 at the Avera Gregory Healthcare Center in Gregory, South Dakota at the age of 73 years.

Raised in the Burke and Herrick area, she attended Southern State Teaching College in Springfield, South Dakota and graduated in 1958 with a teaching degree.

In October of 1958 she met and married Michael McCabe. They were married for 10 years and then divorced. In April of 1970 she married Roy Farabee and they remained together until her death.

As an Air Force bride, she had the opportunity to live in and visit many interesting locations. She was devoted to her family and extremely involved with Arts and Crafts. This resulted in family and loved ones receiving many unique handcrafted gifts that will forever be cherished.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Alter Society, the Red Hat Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her son, Marc Farabee; her brothers: Bob, David, and William and her sisters: Clara (Jerry), Marion and Loretta and her niece, Sharon Barney.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Roy; her sister, Fran; children, Russell McCabe, Lynne McCabe, Rex Farabee and Brett Farabee; her grandchildren: Desiree', Blake, Lacey, Mathew, Katie, Michael, Rebekah, Rachel, Skylar and Kaleb; her brothers-in-law: Joe, Wes, Marvin and Kenneth and her sister-in-law, Rose. There are also many loving nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick. There will be a rosary on Sunday at 5:00 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both of the services at the church.
