On January 8 th 1955 she was married to Duane W. Zeisler in the same country church she was baptized and confirmed in. She then began life farming & ranching near the Twin Buttes in McCully Township and raising three children Jane, Craig and James.
Joan was involved in various organizations but foremost raising her children and being involved in their interests. She could cook a roast like none other but would rather be outside. She loved cattle her entire life and still needed to check in on them when the weather was nice. You could find her in the hayfield, cultivating or helping at harvest, raising a garden or chickens but always caring for her family.
Joan was very close and active in the lives of her grandchildren. Their activities were not missed if at all possible. They could stay at Grandpa and Grandmas and have a lot of fun, but she also taught them the satisfaction of work and a job well done. Many a musk thistle met its demise due to grandma and the kids. They could be found laughing, singing eating wild fruit and jumping in the creek at the end of the day. Joan had a beautiful alto voice but within the family her ability to yodel was cherished.
She attended many baptisms, weddings, ball games, concerts and school functions with 8 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She loved and devoted herself to every one of her family.
The one constant in Joan's life was her faith in God and his promise of everlasting life. The Lord called her home on January 29, 2021 after complications of a stroke.
