Jason was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 26th, 1978 to Robert Glenn and Nancy Barber Allpress and passed away on July 1st, 2012 in Bremerton, Washington.
At 4 months of age, Jason moved with his parents to Groton, Connecticut. In January of 1985, Jason, along with his parents and sister Jaime, moved to Bremerton, Washington. There is where he resided for the remainder of his life. He attended Woodlands Elementary, Fairview Jr. High and Olympic High School, where he graduated in 1997. During his school years, Jason played various sports, including; football, soccer and wrestling. In Junior High, he was a key component of his school"s undefeated football team. He was in the gifted students program and participated in various other school activities.
Upon graduation from high school, Jason attended the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from their automotive mechanics program in 1998. Although Jason loved cars, he quickly discovered that being a mechanic was not his life goal. He transitioned into the investment and insurance field. In 2003 he secured a job at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and worked in their Electrical Maintenance Shop. In 2007 he was selected for the Shipyard"s coveted Apprenticeship Program. During part of his training, he was sent to Japan to help retrofit a nuclear aircraft carrier. While there, he experienced a culture he grew to love, met and made many Japanese friends and rode out the terrible earthquake that occurred there in March of 2011. In September of 2011 he graduated from the 4 year college program with a degree in Electronics.
While participating in the apprenticeship program, Jason also maintained a second profession as a financial management consultant for Primerica Investments. Managing stock portfolios, following market trending, studying world history and world politics were Jason"s true passions.
At the time of his death, Jason was in the process of establishing his very own investment company. His dream was to move back Nebraska and invest and buy land.
He loved college and professional football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers, watching and participating in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighting, owned only big comfortable Cadillac's, enjoyed good food and drink, loved his family, his friends, and his best buddy is an English Bull Mastiff named Brutus. As a small boy, Jason"s favorite TV show was "The Dukes of Hazard" and he often could be heard singing the theme song from the show.
Throughout school and all through his life, Jason was a friend to people of all lifestyles. No matter who they were, he would fit in and had that ability to bring diverse people together as one. He was known as a solid man, a true friend and confidant, a protector of those he could help and someone who would drop anything he was doing for a friend who needed help. Upon hearing of his passing, friends started putting out the word and organizing a Remembrance. Within 4 days, over 300 friends gathered to honor the memory of their friend. Friends flew in from as far away as Costa Rica, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas or drove from closer states.
