Janet Leah Ticknor, age 84, of Sioux Falls passed away peacefully under the loving care of Avera Hospice on Monday, April 26, 2021.  A private family memorial service will be held at burial.

Janet was born to Minnie and Andrew Qualm on August 3, 1936 in Bonesteel, South Dakota.  Upon graduating from Bonesteel High School in 1954, she attended the University of South Dakota.  On December 29, 1954 she married Larry Ticknor of Burke, South Dakota.  Janet and Larry enjoyed travel and saw much of the world.  They spent many winters in Palm Desert golfing and hosting family.  Janet was an avid bridge player and highly involved in her P.E. O. chapter including being the state President of P.E.O. for a time.  In their later years Janet and Larry moved back to their roots in Bonesteel on an acreage and enjoyed their ranch and the  country.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Larry in September of 2020.  Grateful for having shared her life are her sons Greg (Kris) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jim (Laurie) of Belgrade, MT, six grandchildren Andrew (Tara), Jacob, Erica, Stuart, Tom, and Rachel, in addition to her great-granddaughter Dillon.  Janet is also survived by her sister Andrea and her husband Gary of Wall, South Dakota.
