James Haney was born June 15, 1942 in Nebraska and died August 3, 2026 at his home in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 84 years.

Jim was united in marriage to Donna Bartlett on June 10, 1966, at the Methodist Church in Burke, South Dakota, and together shared nearly 60 years of marriage. After the birth of their children, Donna and Jim moved to the farm, where they raised their family. Jim and Donna were proud and loving parents to Michael, born in 1970, Patrick, born in 1971, and Danny, born in 1975. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Tammy) Haney of Naper, NE., Patrick Haney of Burke, SD., and Danny (Carla) Haney of Gregory, SD.; her grandchildren, Mindy (Joe) Spencer of O’Neill, NE., Katelyn (Clint) Brockmann of O’Neill, NE., Karlie Haney of Norfolk, NE.; and Olivia Haney of Brookings, SD.; and her great-grandchildren, Brody and Brigham Spencer, and Rylan Hannahs of O’Neill, NE.
