Jack Jacob Reutter was born October 13, 1927 at Gregory, South Dakota. He was the oldest of two children. Jacks parents, Jacob Sylvester and Agnes Irene (Lang) Reutter were married June 1, 1926. They were also parents of one daughter, Irene Brotsky of ONeill, Nebraska.
Jack grew up in the Dallas and Gregory area and attended grade school south of Dallas for six years. He later attended Sister School in Gregory his final two years of grade school.
Jack and his father farmed together in Gregory County until 1967. He married Juanita Good on July 17, 1950. To this union for children were born: two sons, Dale and Jack, Jr. and two daughters: Cindy and Charlotte.
Jack and Juanita moved to a ranch northwest of Winner, South Dakota in 1967 and resided there until 1975. At that time, Jack went into the real estate business. They lived in Kennebec, South Dakota until 1982. They moved to Rapid City where Jack continued to sell real estate.
In 1990, they sold there home and began traveling the western part of the United States. In 1994, they returned to Colorado to settle near their daughter and family who lived in Sterling, Colorado.
Jacks health had been declining for the past three years. Due to his ill health they moved to Haysville, Kansas in September of 2007 to be closer to their daughter, Cindy, and other relatives. Jack and Juanita celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2000 and they also celebrated 58 years of marriage this past July.
Jack entered the hospital on Friday, April 11, 2008 and was transferred to Harry Hines Hospice Center at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on April 16, 2008. He passed from this life on April 20, 2008 at 7:15 p.m.
Jack is survived by his wife, Juanita; a son, Dale and wife Jennifer of Pierson, MI an their six children: Jay, Jeremy and Jami of Michigan, Christina and Monica of South Dakota and Jeffery of Ohio; a son, Jack, Jr. and wife Kathy of Ramona, CA; one daughter, Cindy of ElDorado, KS, three grandchildren: Richard, PJ amd Michael, who is presently stationed in Iraq. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and one sister, Irene Brotsky of ONeill, Nebraska.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Charlotte and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Gregory. Burial will be in the Winner Catholic Cemetery, Winner. There will be a rosary on Friday at 7:00 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
