Ivan Delaney, 84, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at The Haisch Haus in Bonesteel, South Dakota.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Esther Delaney and his brother Dennis Delaney. Survivors include two nieces, great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, close friends and neighbors.

Ivan graduated high school from Fairfax in 1951, afterwards he worked for the railroad for a year before joining the Army in 1953. He fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He owned and operated a dump trucking business from 1953 until he took over the family farm in 1973.

Ivan enjoyed farming, pheasant hunting and animals. He was generous, the first to lend a tool or a helping hand. He was a cherished member of his family and a good friend and neighbor to all.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Highland Cemetery in Fairfax, South Dakota.
