Iris M. Hotz was born on April 13,1930 to Roy and Myrtle (Freeman) Teel, in Burke. S.D. She died August 25, 2020 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke.

Iris grew up in Burke and attended the Burke School. On June 6,1949, Iris married Henry (Bob) C. Hotz at the United Methodist Church in Burke. To this union were four children: Sandra, Darrell, Charles and Roger. Iris held varies job throughout her life, working at the Burke Theatre, Burke Gazette, Hillcrest Motel and Nancy's Hair Salon.  Iris enjoyed gardening and assisted with Bingo at the nursing homes for the VFW. Iris's greatest pleasure were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Iris was a world traveler, she visited London, Paris, Bahamas, Hawaii and Mexico. Iris also embarked on two ocean cruises. Iris enjoyed short rides around the town of Burke.

Iris was a Lifetime Member of the VFW and member of the United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband Henry of 61 years, her parents Roy & Myrtle Teel, brothers: Winifred, Kenneth, Delbert, Leonard and one sister Mabel.

Iris is survived by her four children: Sandra (Dale) Neumiller, Darrell (Lynn) Hotz, Charles Hotz and Roger (Tammi) Hotz. Her grandchildren: Melissa Colman, Michael Neumiller, Melinda (David) Wirges, Jessica (Travis) Sargent, Christopher (Amy) Hotz, Derek (Brittanie) Hotz and Adam Jacobsen. Her great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Ava Sargent, Bailey and Harleigh Colman, Kolt and Bren Hotz, Kailey, Emma, Kinsley, Maddie, Brielle and Braeden Wirges, Eli, Blaze and Kinleigh Hotz, Jake and Abby Jacobsen, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Iris Hotz , age 90 , of Burke, SD will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist  Church in Burke.  Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke.  Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM prayer service, at the church.
