Inez Grace Tech, 78, of St. Charles, SD passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Burke Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, SD. Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:30am at the Grace Lutheran Church in Burke. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery in Burke. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 from 5-7pm with a prayer service beginning at 7pm at the Grace Lutheran in Burke.

Inez Grace Vaughn was born June 29, 1935 to Lyle and Cecil (Alexander) Vaughn at their home south of St. Charles near the Ponca Creek and was called home to glory February 25, 2014 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, SD. On January 15, 1956 Inez was united in marriage to Darrell Tech and to this union four children were born. Darrell, Inez and their children traveled for 6 years to various places where Darrell worked construction. They returned to St. Charles where they worked with Darrell's parents at the Tech Corner Station. In 1970 Darrell and Inez took over the business and ran it until July of 2000 when they retired. Inez then enjoyed working with her sister Sharon at the Bonesteel Lounge and the Fairfax Grill & Bar and also worked helping her grandson Cory and his family with their business Heartland Health. Inez's biggest enjoyment besides her family was her many years of throwing darts in leagues and tournaments where she made many dear friends. Inez was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bonesteel, SD and a lifetime member of the Burke VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Herrick American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Inez is survived by her children Debra (Jack) Bartling of Watertown, SD, Diane (Sam) Boska of St. Charles, SD, David (Kris) Tech of Fairfax, SD and Darla (Mike) Peterson of Sioux Falls, SD. Her grandchildren Justin (Erika) Bartling of Sioux Falls, SD, Mike (Lisa) Bartling of Tampa, FL, April (Joe) Maeschen of Box Elder, SD, Cory (Amy) Bailey of Bonesteel, SD, Justin (Samantha) Baer of Murrieta, CA, JR Baer of Marion, SD, Jason Boska of Kearney, NE, Daniel (Alisha) Tech of Fairfax, SD, Kelsey (Jake) Arthur of Merrill, IA, Lacey Tech of Fairfax, SD, Matthew (Molly) Peterson and Mark (Alyssa) Peterson of Sioux Falls, SD and two special children who also had the privilege of calling her grandma, Ethan and Lexie Fernau of Fairfax, SD. Her great-grandchildren: Lily, Ben and Spencer Bartling, Skylar and Charlie Bartling, Ryder Maeschen, Cade and Cooper Bailey, Noah and Gavin Baer, Adrien Baer, Phoenix Hill, Alayna Arthur, William Tech and Brooke Peterson. Her brothers and sisters: AdaMae Moody, Ray (Deanne) Vaughn, Paul (Betty) Vaughn, Rose (Lamone) Kerner and Sharon Jensen. Brothers and sisters in law: Laverne (Judy) Tech, Earl (Judy) Tech, Janet Spiedel, Iola Frank and Clayton Steele. God Children: Sonya (Duane) Fernau and Susan (Russell) Riedle and many, many loved nieces and nephews.

Inez was preceded by her husband Darrell, her parents Lyle and Cecil, her mother and father-in-law Edgar and Dora Tech, sister Karon Steele, brother Lyle Vaughn Jr. and infant sister Mildred. Also, her in-laws: Don Moody, Helmer Jensen, Lorretta Vaughn, John Frank, Robert Spiedel, Robert and Betty Martin.

Inez was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers and spent many hours playing cards. Her quick wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends whom she dearly loved.
