Ila May Miller was born Feb. 7th, 1926 in Hamill, So. Dakota to James and Iva (Leat) Armstrong. Ila married Venus John Miller January 22nd, 1949 in Vermillion, So. Dakota. Ila was preceded in death by her loving husband, her mother and father; and her daughter Le Ann Burns. Ila lived in and around Gregory and Tripp County all her life.

She was a loving stay-at- home mother for most of her life, but she did work out side of the home at the Hospital in Burke. Ila enjoyed making doll clothes, and collecting stuffed animals. She also enjoyed playing the organ. Ila was a great fan of music, and liked to play all kinds of music. Ila enjoyed going for car rides with her friend Carol.

Ila is survived by 2 son's, James Miller and Barry Miller(Sally) of Des Moines, IA, 1 son-in-law Gene Bruns of Colome, SD. 4 grand children, Charleen Bruns of Pierre, SD, Nicholas Bruns of Sioux Falls, SD, Nicole Miller and Elizabeth Miller of Des Moines, IA, 3 great-grandchildren Kaitlin, McKinsey, and Kyle Anderson all of Des Moines, IA.

Memorial services will be held at a future date. In accordance with Ila Mays' wishes, her body was donated to the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
