Harley Verne Jons was born April 17, 1927, in his family's home in rural Bonesteel, South Dakota to Arthur and Alma (Vetter) Jons. He died September 4, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his family, at the age of 81 years. He began working for Miller Electric in Bonesteel where he was grandfathered into the electrical and plumbing business for 60 years of service. During this time he was also a Figidaire appliance dealer, a farmer and provided custom haying. He attended electrical certification classes in May of 2008 in order to renew and maintain his electrical license. Harley married Dolores Noel on July 27, 1950 and to this union five children were born. His enjoyment was his collection of electrical trains, going with Dolores to craft fairs to sell her ceramics and spending countless hours with his family and friends.
