Gregory Lynn Gessner was born February 23, 1970 at Gregory, South Dakota to Mary (Gessner) Duerfeldt and he died March 19, 2005 at Denver, Colorado at the age of 35 years and 26 days.

Greg spent most of his life in the Mills area. He entered the Army in the fall of 1988, where he served two years, one of which was in Korea. His favorite pastimes were fishing and reading. His optimistic attitude helped him with the many bumps in life. He enjoyed people and made many friends.

Greg is survived by his wife, Brittanie and son Tristan of Aurora, CO; son, Derek Larson of Springview, NE; mother and step-father, Mary and Bob Duerfeldt of Burke, SD; grandparents Frank and Ruth Gessner of Mills, NE; sister Angela Hoffmann and children Blake and Kayley of Burke, SD; brother Richard Hoffmann and fianc Joey Totton of Burke, SD; step-brothers: Mark and wife Darcy Duerfeldt of Herrick, SD and Michael and wife Ammie Duerfeldt of Burke, SD; good friend, Bob Dangler of Hastings, NE and several friends and relatives.

A Fishermans Prayer

Lord grant that I may fish until my dying day,

And when it comes to my last cast,
