Glen Paul Clausen was born April 23, 1936 in Burke, SD to parents Henry and Phyllis (Harding) Clausen. Glen died April 13, 2007 in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 70 years.

Glen attended elementary school in Burke and graduated from Burke High School in 1957. He then began working with his Dad and brother Cam at Clausen Funeral Home. He married Patricia Larsen on August 15, 1962 in Winner, SD. The couple resided in Burke where they raised their four children, Pamela Jean, Robley Paul, Lorinda Lou and Brian Henry. Glen co-owned and worked at Clausen Funeral Home until 1985. He then worked at various jobs in the Burke area. He later moved to Underwood, IA and married Mary Barnett on May 21, 2003. Glen has lived in Underwood until the present time.

Glen was a member of Union Baptist Church in Burke, SD. He was also a past member of the American Legion and the Burke Community Club. Glen started driving ambulance when he was 16 years old and eventually became a certified Emergency Medical Technician. He also served as a volunteer fireman for 25 years.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, brother Cam, and a brother Harry, in infancy.

He is survived by his wife Mary of Underwood, IA; 2 daughters: Pam Klein and husband Jim of Gregory, SD and Lorinda Clausen of Minneapolis, MN; 2 sons: Rob Clausen and wife Cyrele of Pueblo West, CO and Brian Clausen and wife Amy of Beresford, SD; 5 grandchildren: Tricia and Jamie Klein and Tony, Steve, and Nicole Clausen; 2 great grandchildren: Jayden and Jordan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 PM, with the family present from 6 to 8 PM, at the funeral home.
