Francis Dana LeClaire was born August 20, 1966 to Francis and Geraldine LeClaire. Dana spent most of his life in Bonesteel where he attended school. After graduating he enlisted in the Maries, serving four years from 1984 to 1988, as well as two years in the reserves. He completed his training at Camp Pendleton in California. During his service he traveled to Japan, Taiwan, Beirut, Hawaii, Alaska and other places.
Following his discharge, Dana lived in Sioux City for six years. It was there he received his diploma for Auto Mechanic/Auto Body Repair at the Community College. He spent the last years of his life in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed working on cars and also loved to cook.
Dana had two daughters: Maria and granddaughter McKenzie, and Brie and grandson Kenny and granddaughter May Leacia.
Along with his daughters and grandchildren, Dana leaves to mourn his parents, Francis and Geraldine; his sisters: Karen, June, Susan, Candi and Holly; his brother, Chuck and many nieces and nephews. We will always keep Dana in our hearts and cherish the memories. We love you Dana, we will never forget you.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Milks Camp Community Hall near Bonesteel, SD. Burial will be in the UCC Cemetery, near St. Charles, SD. A wake will begin on Saturday at the Hall and continue until the time of the services on Monday. Dana died October 7, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls.
