Esther Dorothy Elaina Seymour was born April 25, 1924 to Ted and Eva (Wolf) Walters and she died March 1, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Armour, South Dakota at the age of 90 years.
Esther met Roy Seymour in Burke, South Dakota while he was working for various farmers. They were united in marriage on February 17, 1943 at Herrick, South Dakota. In the following years, the couple lived and raised their family in the Gregory and Paxton area. They later moved to a farm near Jamison, Nebraska in 1951. In 1978, they sold their farm and moved onto Burke.
Esther remained in Burke after Roy's death in 2001, before moving to the Golden Living Center in Armour in 2012.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; one infant son, Daniel LeRoy; her daughter, Kathy Harp; her sister, Viola Shedeed and her brother, Henry Walters.
Esther is survived by her son, Howard (Coleen) of Omaha, NE; her daughter, Connie (John) Aitken of Bellvue, WA; her grandchildren: Matthew Seymour, Candy Claeys, Chrissy Parkhurst, Kayla Hallberg, Alan (Carolyn) Kortmeyer, Leah Kortmeyer and Adam Harp; Her great-grandchildren: Brooke Seymour, Jacob Claeys, Jessie Claeys, Jeremiah Claeys, Shauna Kortmeyer, Sarah Kortmeyer and Karlie Hallberg and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at the Church.
