Eileen (Anhorn) Burger, 90, of Bonesteel, SD died on Tuesday, December23, 2014 at Avera Yankton Care Center.

Eileen was born July 16, 1924 in Herrick, SD to Albert and Eigina (Horst) Anhorn    She  grew up in Herrick and attended school there.  Eileen then moved to Bremerton, Washington and found work in a Navy shipyard.  There she was introduced to a young sailor from Iowa named Dallas "Sam" Burger.   They were married on September 22, 1945 in Bremerton.  After Sam's discharge from the Navy, the couple moved back to South Dakota where Eileen worked in the General Store in Herrick.  Sam and Eileen built a home in Bonesteel, where they made their life, raised their daughter Mavonne, and spent the remainder of their 69 years of marriage.  Eileen enjoyed dances, shaking dice, playing bingo and cards, trips to the "Hill" and visiting family.



Thankful for having shared Eileen's life is her husband Sam, son-in-law Robert Finke of Sioux Falls, grandchildren Tracy (Russ) Schmidt of Menominee, NE, Tricia Finke of Sioux Falls, Tara (Robert) Padilla of Garden City, KS, great-grandchildren Matt (Amanda) Oltmanns of Sioux Falls, Kelsey Oltmanns of Sioux Falls, Marissa, Nathan, and Jada Schmidt of Menominee, NE and RJ Padilla of Garden City, KS, and great-great grandson Dallas Oltmanns of Sioux Falls.



Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters,  Lois Laska Dee Anhorn and Mary Louise Rue , and daughter Mavonne.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Bible Church in Bonesteel. Burial will in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
